The brief
Doggie Day Mother is a service that provides day, night, weekend, and holiday care for small dogs in a safe, secure, and loving home environment. The brand looked a bit dated and needed a modern touch.
The request was to develop new branding that included established elements like the heart in the logo and create various marketing materials like social media posts, flyers, a yearly calendar, and an application to help manage bookings.
Solution #1 - Identity
Update the brand with a clean modern feel, and pair the style with quirky and cute images to bring the brand's personality to life. The client wanted to use photography of pets to make the brand relatable.
Solution #2 - The app
The goal -
Create an app that allows customers to book their pooch for daycare or grooming easily. This would allow customers to set up profiles for the dogs and allow them to easily keep track of bookings.
Who, what and why -
Doggie Day Mother, fondly abbreviated to DDM, provides small dogs happy and safe home away from home while their owners work or go away for business or pleasure. Conceptualized in 2013
and owned and managed by Annabelle Snyman, it has cared for over 300 dogs to date. DDM has
a well-established client base that has been making a request for an upgraded booking system.
With a well-established client base, the client has already been talking to their target audience and had a lot of insight to form a user persona.

Defining the flow
When all the information was gathered I proceeded with creating a flowchart showing how the platform would be organized. Adding in all the features that the client has in mind along with the needs and solutions of the target audience.

User flow and wireframe
After we defined the flow and thus what screens we needed I proceeded with creating the wireframes to explore the experience in more detail on a screen-by-screen level. The main focus was the booking of a service flow that sits at the heart of the app.
UI kit
I created the UI kit that reflects DDM’s brand adjectives. Keeping with the updated style.
High fidelity design and prototype
After working through and finalising some of the users flows. I designed the final design and create a prototype.
